Excellent release, Google. Gemma 4 is good.
Gemma 4 is SUPER intelligent. I mean I'm amazed, the 26b a4b model of Gemma 4 runs like one of those 70+ to 100+ billion parameter models, but way faster. Its amazing how far Gemma has advanced from 3 to 4. It feels more human too. The responses, the creativity. Its so surreal.
Hi @DorkMckork1 -
Appreciate you sharing your feedback! We truly value the enthusiasm and support from the community, and we’re excited to see what you build with it. Gemma 4 really does feel like a significant leap.
Thank you also Google for thinking outside the data center and for returning back to the consumer. Thank you for not making everything a software as a service rental hellhole, for compromising with consumers and for helping to resolve the ram crisis by thinking with your heads, lol. We need more of this kind of thinking, big compute but without taking up giant real estate. We don't need to build up ten trillion data centers, we need to follow the examples of Google with this Gemma 4 and make LLMs more accessible to all devices so nobody has a sword of damacles to dangles over anyone's head, so its a fair and level playing ground, and have models just like Gemma 4 that don't act as resource hogs that take up ten trillion gigabytes of RAM. Gemma 4 is awesome, I love it. Keep up the good work you guys, and please, keep this philosophy going and don't lose it. I know you guys work for a big tech company, but Google, please don't ever forget "Don't Be Evil." lol. This is a good thing you guys are putting out, it levels the playing field and makes it so people don't have to rely on the cloud for frontier agentic models. This is as big a leap (in my opinion) as OpenAI when they put out GPT4o. Anyways, thanks again for Gemma 4 you guys, great work. This is my favorite model I've used so far.
